David Puttnam
Lord Puttnam of Queensgate CBE FRSA David Puttnam, the celebrated film producer and an active supporter of educational and children’s causes shall give one of the keynote addresses at the festival







Theo Lynn
Dr. Theo Lynn is Director of the DCU Leadership, Innovation and Knowledge Research Centre (LINK). He speaks regularly internationally on the use of technology in education having worked as an entrepreneur, senior executive and advisor in the international e-learning sector for over 15 years. He has worked on a wide range of projects with major international organisations including Cambridge University Press, Microsoft, Intel, SMART Technologies, Channel 4 Learning, London Grid for Learning and many others.


Simon Lewis
Simon Lewis is a former computer science graduate who decided to become a teacher after the dotcom bubble burst in 2000. Through a series of fortunate events, Simon qualified in the UK, passed his Irish exams and settled in Carlow, where he is now the principal of Carlow Educate Together National School.

Simon is the editor of Anseo.net, a magazine-style web site, which is aimed at all primary school teachers and focuses on all aspects of good practice in education.  It currently has a readership of over 1 million per annum


Leo McCloskey
Leo McCloskey is vice principal of Termoncanice Primary School Limavady. He has organised award winning parent/child events within the school such as Fit Families and communITy. He has used ICT extensively within the classroom to enhance the quality of teaching and learning .

He has imaginatively used ICT to create animations, mediascapes, websites, the school magazine and a movie promoting the school World Cup. In school he extensively uses the IWB, Activ Expression voters, The Imac and the school digital classroom to enhance the Literacy experience for children.


David O'Grady
Dr. David O'Grady: A primary teacher with many years of classroom experience, worked on various EU Comenius ICT projects, producer of Visual Media Resources for classroom use, Director of the Curriculum Development Unit at Mary Immaculate College (1999 - 2005), member of the OECD research team on ICT in Ireland (2000), presents courses on IWB and other ICT related topics at undergraduate, postgraduate and in-career level and currently is lecturer on ICT in Primary Education at Mary Immaculate College, Limerick.


Jim Wynn
Jim Wynn joined Promethean in April 2010 as Chief Education Officer, responsible for the company’s education strategy.
 
Prior to joining Promethean Mr Wynn led the Public Sector team and Education in the Emerging Markets Public Sector Practice of the Cisco Internet Business Solutions Group. Whilst at Cisco Jim discussed the opportunity of building an e-learning industry with the Taoiseach, the IDA and others such as RCSI in Dublin and was co-author of a feasibility study which demonstrated that Ireland has the capacity to be a world leader in this area with indigenous companies such as ViP.
 
Previously Mr Wynn held various positions including Head Teacher of two secondary schools in the UK, where he pioneered the use of ICT, Head of Research at RM Plc, and Partners in Learning lead for EMEA at Microsoft. 
 
Mr Wynn holds a first class degree in Mathematics from the University of Hertfordshire. He is a director of the 21st Century Learning Alliance Board in the UK.


Karen McCarthy & Catherine Riordan
Karen McCarthy has a background in philosophy and politics. Catherine Riordan is a doctor. Together they have years of experience in dealing with the particular challenges of raising gifted children within the Irish education system and are passionate advocates for gifted education. They are co-founders of GAS, a Gifted Advocacy and Support group in south Dublin/Wicklow and Irish ambassadors for the global gifted community that is #gtchat on Twitter. They recently launched a gifted education blog, DazzledandFrazzled.com, which aims to open dialogue between all stakeholders in giftedness in Ireland. 


Vincent Hyland
Vincent Hyland Learning (VHL) is the leading provider of natural history cross curricular education to schools in Ireland. In 2000 and 2001, his ground breaking Prix d’Europa winning web broadcast of nesting Jackdaws (Jacky and Daw) into schools became the most watched live wildlife event ever in Ireland with over 1million+ people tuning in. He has been providing live classroom education to schools since 2001. He is the first Irish publisher to publish interactive whiteboard content resources on prometheanplanet.com.


Joanne Broggy
Joanne Broggy is the Project Officer in Teaching and Learning in Science in the National Centre for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching and Learning (NCE-MSTL), where she works closely with the biological and physical sciences. She graduated in 2005 with a B.Sc. Ed. degree in Biological Science and Physics. Joanne is in the final stage of her PhD in the area of physics education, were the focus is on the use of Concept Mapping in the science classroom with particular emphasis on the students ability in problem solving and use of scientific language.


Patrick Johnson
Patrick Johnson has been a Research Fellow with the National Centre for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching and Learning (NCE-MSTL) at the University of Limerick since 2008. He received a B.Sc. degree in Applied Mathematics and Computing and a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from the University of Limerick. His current research interests include investigating the role of ICT in the teaching and learning of mathematics within the higher education sector in Ireland.


Leslie S. Graves
Leslie S. Graves is a Parent, Advocate and Ed. Consultant in Gifted Ed, and is soon to receive a Post Grad Dip in Gifted Ed. 
A commissioned writer on NCCA- Draft Guidelines for Teaching Exceptionally Able Children and a SME for NCTE (2008),  Leslie is currently collaborating on a GiftedTeachers listserve – at Belin Blank centre in the Uni. of Iowa. Secretary of the World Council for Gifted and Talented Children, and occasional lecturer in gifted at UCD. A presenter both Nationally and Internationally on Giftedness at the ILSA, IATSE, CTYI, & WCGTC- UK &Vancouver and B&B in Iowa. She is author and founder of http://innreach.wordpress.com/


Caoimhe Ní Chuinn
Caoimhe Ní Chuinn is a Regional Development Officer with an tSeirbhís Tacaíochta Dara Leibhéal don Ghaeilge, having being seconded from Coláiste de hÍde, Tallaght in 2007. Her educational background includes a BA hons. (Gaeilge & French), H. Dip. in Education and a Dioplóma Iarchéime san Aistriúchán agus san Eagarthóireacht. Amongst many other initiatives, she has piloted and been involved in, she has worked with the NCTE to develop a ‘TFC agus an Ghaeilge’ course for Gaeilge teachers and with AbairLeat! on a pilot online resource for students.


Carmel Nic Eoin
Carmel Nic Eoin has been National Co-ordinator of An tSeirbhís Tacaíochta Dara Leibhéal don Ghaeilge since 2007. Prior to that, she worked as a Regional Development Officer with the Second Level Support Service for seven years, having been seconded from St. Leo’s College, Carlow, where she taught Gaeilge and Mathematics to all levels. She has a Master’s degree in Modern Irish from NUI Galway and has a keen interest in the development of all methodologies that enhance the teaching and learning of Gaeilge, including the use of ICTs.


Jenny Farrell
Jenny Farrell is a Science graduate from UCD with Higher Diplomas in both Computer Science and Business Studies. Jenny spent 10 years working as a management consultant before giving it all up to become a full time mum. About a year ago Jenny started her training to become an Irlen Screener and recently she completed her training. Jenny is now the Irlen Screener for the Dublin North and surrounding areas and she is finding the experience fascinating and very rewarding.


James Corbett
James Corbett (B.E. Computer Engineering, University of Limerick) has 14 years experience in the IT industry working for multinationals, Apple, Motorola and Analog Devices. James also acted as technical adviser to Gaelscoil O'Doghairin, Co. Limerick where he worked alongside visionary Principal Daithi O'Murchu. With seed funding from Social Entrepreneurs Ireland his company Daynuv, which he co-founded in 2009, is now developing virtual worlds for education, with a focus on applications for special needs and disability.

Margaret Keane
Margaret Keane (B.A. Communication Studies) is the founder of Giftedkids.ie, the voluntary advocacy and support website for exceptionally able and twice exceptional children in Ireland. The site provides information, resources and a forum for parents and teachers and hosts a free series of webinars, supported by NCTE, through the global educators network Learncentral.org. Margaret has worked in corporate video production, publishing, ICT skills training and web design. She is a Social Entrepreneurs Ireland Awardee.

Sarah Keogh
Sarah Keogh graduated from Coláiste Mhuire, Marino in 1994 and has been teaching in St.Fiachra’s S.N.S, Beaumont, Dublin since 2001. Prior to this she taught in Blakestown S.N.S, Mulhuddart, Dublin. Sarah holds an M.A in Theatre Studies [Distinction] from St.Patrick’s College, Drumcondra. Sarah will be giving demonstrations on edcoDigital, highlighting the functionality of the site as well as showcasing all of the resources which are available. There will also be members of the edcoDigital team available to register you for access on the site where you can demo 3 Edco ebooks for up to 2 weeks.

Jennifer Johnston
Jennifer is the Senior Projects Officer in Teaching and Learning - Physical Sciences for the NCE-MSTL. Jennifer graduated with a BSc. Ed. from the University of Limerick in 2004 and with a PhD in August 2010. One of her main aims at the NCE-MSTL is to contribute to the development of evidence-based programmes of innovation in physics and chemistry teaching and learning. To this end she is currently involved in an innovative project involing Maths and Science utilising the TI-Nspire at second level here in Ireland
